Dental Implants

Dr. O'Brien received his implant training at the Misch Implant Institute and has earned Fellowship status in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Nothing is healthier than retaining our natural teeth. However, when one or more teeth are lost, a dental implant is a viable option. The good news is dental implants are strong, can last a lifetime, and unlike natural teeth, they don't get tooth decay. Since bridges are retained by at least two natural teeth, which can often fail when one of those teeth has decay, implants are much more optimal.

The surgical placement of an implant is similar to a tooth extraction. Once the bone has completely hardned around the implant, a porcelain crown can be  placed over a strong abutment, giving a natural tooth appearance and maintaining proper function when biting and chewing.
